Richard Eugene Stephens

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Stephens and Beulah Scarlett Stephens; son, David Stephens 2000; grandsons, Wayne Poole 2005 and Nathan Stephens 2011; brothers, Grayson Stephens and Freeman Stephens and Don Britt; sisters, Georgia Mae Smith and Irene Cross;.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, married June 9th, 1961, Mary Lou Cardwell Stephens; daughters, Jeannie Poole and husband Ray, Mary Ann Johnson and husband Mike; sons, Donnie Stephens and Allen Stephens and his wife Crystal all of Archdale; sisters, Barbara Ann Cordas of Steelton, PA, Glenda Brubacher of Oberlin, PA and Charlotte Horne and husband Wolf of Lancaster, PA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, in laws and favorite sister in law Loretta Joyce.

Richard was of the Baptist faith and worked as an upholsterer for many years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro.

Family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
