He served in the Army and was a sharp shooter and champion boxer during that time and loved to tell the stories of such a time in his life.
He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had a tough exterior and a heart of gold. He would give you anything he had.
The ones that were privileged enough to get to know the "real" Virgil Ray knew this about him. He loved his family tremendously and never wanted to see anyone be at odds with one another. His pride and joy were his grandsons and great grandsons whom he loved dearly and bragged about often.
He loved Football, Baseball, Boxing, Racing and Fishing.
He will be greatly missed by all, but we are so thankful that he will suffer no longer from the cancer that had riddled his frail body. We are also so very thankful for all of the prayers that went up on the behalf of his spiritual well being and to know that by his own confession he did accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He is in Heaven and enjoying a healed, pain free body!
