Alex Theodore Tsourmas

Alex Theodore Tsourmas of Arlington Heights, Illinois was born on February 2, 1995, and passed away on April 5, 2026. Alex was the beloved husband of Alexa Marie Tsourmas (Wechet); loving father to their child to be; dear son to John and Caroline Tsourmas; cherished brother to Peter and Christopher Tsourmas, brother-in-law to Melissa Tsourmas and Kathryn Scott; proud and devoted uncle to nephew John Peter and niece Lucy Giovanna Tsourmas; dear cousin to - including, but not limited to - Melanie (Evan Crafts) and Dillon (Hannah Andrews) McNulty and many others and nephew to Constance McNulty; grandchild to Sophia Dimoglis (Primis) and the late Alex Dimoglis, Peter and Florence Tsourmas (Karoubas).

Alex graduated from Buffalo Grove High School and Indiana University and was set to graduate from the University of Chicago in June with his Master’s in Applied Data Science and be a part of the university’s mentorship program. Alex’s undergraduate degree was in finance, but he ambitiously undertook a passionate, self-taught career in technology, beginning with IBM and culminating at Databricks, which he was especially proud to represent.

Alex’s brothers describe him as an intellectual powerhouse with a relentless pursuit of knowledge and truth. Alex’s family knew him for his enormous heart, overt generosity, deep sense of authenticity and his willingness to help others through anything that they were going through. Alex’s friends knew him for his mental and physical strength, his kindness and character, and his unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.

Alex balanced enormous dreams with the love of and for his family. Alex maintained a deep sense of faith in Jesus Christ and the growth of his new family. It was these qualities, together with his insightful way of seeing the world, understanding people, and having a big heart, that made him such a special person. His absence leaves a deep hole in the hearts of everyone that knew him.

A Church Visitation will be held at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S Roselle Rd, Palatine, IL 60067, on April 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

The Funeral Service will take place at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S Roselle Rd, Palatine, IL 60067, on April 8, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am.

Interment will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016 on April 8, 2026.
