Anita loved her job as the secretary to the Fire Chief in Elk Grove and loved to collect anything having to do with fire service. She was a karate blackbelt, loved to bake and was known for her delicious Greek holiday breads.
Anita is survived by her daughter Lorainne (Mike) Soderlund; grandson James M. Soderlund; and cousins Vickey Yenadios and Elizabeth Dempster.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton, and her parents.
Visitation for Anita will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, Illinois from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with funeral service taking place at 5:00 PM.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to The Dementia Society of America in honor of Anita.
