Barbara Ann Cerniglia

Barbara Ann Cerniglia of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Barbara was born on May 10,1935, in Chicago and was the cherished daughter of Fred and Ann Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 57 years, Frank Cerniglia.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Ernest Mooney, Lisa (Michael) Calabrese, Lauren (Timothy Bona) Cerniglia, and Greg (Mary Beth) Cerniglia. Proud grandmother of Aeryn (Stacy) Glass, Jenna (Josh Farray) Glass, Katelyn Cerniglia, Nick (Katherine) Cerniglia, Eric Mooney, and Melissa (Kyle) Hatch. Great-grandmother of Elara, Parker, Gibson, Francesca, Ryan, and Blake.

Barbara will most be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She had a kind and genial nature, yet she was strong and independent as well. Barbara thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family – was thrilled with all the new additions -- and remained friends with her classmates dating back from high school. She was the consummate homemaker who sewed all her children’s clothes, upholstered furniture, and learned from her mother-in-law how to make a variety of delicious dinners. She worked at a fabric store for several years where she taught sewing.

She loved her Cubs, watching college basketball, and adored Willie Nelson. She was content spending time in her home -- appreciating the simple pleasures of life.
