Barbara H. Thorstenson

Longtime Resident of Buffalo Grove

Barbara H. Thorstenson was born September 5, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Roland and Laura (nee Keir) Hoffman. She died on November 20, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

"To know her was to love her." A cherished daughter, caring sister, loving wife, devoted mother, lovable grandma, and a dear friend to all that knew her. Unconditional love radiated from this beautiful woman and she had an uncanny way to make every person feel so incredibly special. The world is not as bright without Barbara's presence, but her legacy will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 52 years Glenn Thorstenson; her sons Marc (Jennifer), Todd (Kelly) and Scott (Katie) Thorstenson; her grandchildren Bailey, Brooke, Jake, Tyler, Drew, Megan and Macyn Thorstenson; her brothers Don (Jeannie) and Doug (Cathy) Hoffman; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Laura Hoffman as well as her grandchildren Hope and Nathan Thorstenson.

Visitation Friday, November 25, 2022 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. There will be another Visitation on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30am at Kingswood United Methodist Church 401 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Interment will be held privately.
