Bruce K. Thomas

Bruce K Thomas, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was born on June 7, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Bruce and Dolores (Neef) Thomas. Bruce married Jane Willwerth on April 8, 1972 in Arlington Heights, Illinois and they celebrated 51 years together.

Bruce is survived by his wife; children Natalie (Kenneth) Laukas, Bruce (Carly) Thomas, and Charlie (Jennifer) Thomas; grandchildren Evan, Colin, and Arthur; and sister Gretchen Finn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bruce was a mechanical engineer and loved sailing, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed working on cars and various projects in his workshop. Bruce graduated from New Trier High School in 1963. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Coral Sea and was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran.

Friends and family will gather for a memorial visitation for Bruce that will be held from 3pm - 4pm on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004 with a memorial service to follow at 4pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Bruce’s name to the American Heart Association.
