Carl Robert Kachan

Mr. Kachan proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. He worked in the transportation industry for over 40 years, having spent 19 with Motorola where his duties included being the Corporate Traffic Manager. Carl graduated from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Carl was a member of St. Zachary Catholic Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching sports and old movies and will be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to tell a joke.

He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Elizabeth (nee Powell) Kachan; his daughter, Carol (Gary) Hollatz, his son Gary (Krystie) Kachan; his grandchildren, Tyler and William Hollatz, Kylie, Travis, Connor, and Logan Kachan; and his godchild Patricia Stachnik.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers Edwin and Henry.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Zachary Catholic Church, 567 West Algonquin Road, in Des Plaines, Illinois 600016. Private interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
