

Charles Christopher Hoppe, Jr., 69, was born on March 18, 1953, in Chicago, Ill. to Charles and Marjorie (nee Oettel) Hoppe. He died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, in Park Ridge, Illinois.
Mr. Hoppe was devoted, dedicated and hardworking thoughout his entire life in everything he did. He practiced law for 45 years and was a founding partner of Knight, Hoppe, Kurnik, and Knight Ltd., where he tried many cases in Illinois and Indiana and in Federal Court.
Chuck was a devoted husband to Anita and was grateful for the wonderful life they created during their 45 years of marriage. He was a proud father to his four children, but the most important job he ever held was being "Papa" to his 11 grandchildren. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy, and the legacy of love he established will continue for generations.
Chuck had a strong faith in God and trusted in his word. He was an long-time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. A food enthusiast, he enjoyed trying new recipes and restaurants, grilling for his family and friends, and watching the Food Network. He enjoyed reading, making lists, telling jokes, spending time on his boat in Table Rock Lake, and snuggling his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife Anita (nee Kirby) Hoppe; his children Bethany (Nathan) Flory, Kimberly (Andrew) Walker, Merideth (Jason) Pickering, and Brian (Nichole) Hoppe; his grandchildren Leila Strysick, Caleb, and Collin Flory, Zoe, Louis, and Tess Walker, Jonathan and Emma Pickering, and Theodore "Teddy," and Annie Hoppe; and his dear sister Jeanna (Raymond) Matuszewski.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Joyce Eaton, and his brother Dennis.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, Illinois, 60004 and Thursday March 9, 2023, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
