Christine A. O'Callaghan

Christine A. O'Callaghan was born on June 16, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to William R. and Norma E. (nee Nelson) Kuhn. She passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2022 at her home in Wheeling, Illinois.

Chris graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Education, specializing in history. She worked as a childcare professional throughout her career. She loved working with children especially her time spent working at the Kohl Children’s Museum.

In addition to being a die hard Cubs fan, she also worked for the Chicago Cubs organization for more than a decade and her love for the team was contagious.

When she wasn’t working or cheering on the Cubs, Chris spent time traveling with friends and family, enjoying a wide variety of music and reading a good book. Chris was known for her vast knowledge and love of history and current events.

She will always be remembered for her academic accomplishments as valedictorian of her class, her strong work ethic, her commitment to working with children, her loyalty to the Cubs and as a supportive and cherished family member.

Chris is survived by her sister Cathleen (late William) Clarke; her brother Robert (Kimberly) Kuhn; her nieces and nephews Brian (Brittany) Clarke, Megan (Patrick) Gannon, Kelsey (Dan) Bruzdzinski, Kristin (Kevin) Dee and Matthew Kuhn and her great-niece Brooke Bruzdzinski; she is also survived by her cousins Barbara Nelson, Roger (Candace) Nelson and Glenn (Kathy) Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mark O'Callaghan as well as her parents.

Visitation Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and Monday, June 13, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers memorials tributes may be made to the Cancer Research Institute or Cubs Charities.
