Christine Louise Weber, 75, of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on May 15, 2026. She was born in Chicago on July 22, 1950 the daughter of two Swedish immigrants, Louise (nee Johansson) and Richard Carlson.
Christine attended grade school in Chicago. She also attended North Park Academy in Chicago for high school. She started her college education at the University of Illinois in Chicago for two years, where she met her future husband. She then transferred to Washington University in St. Louis where she graduated and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, along with many certificates and coursework of merit that followed throughout her career.
Christine lived a life distinguished by steadfast professionalism, deep purpose, and a lasting commitment to the well-being of children and families in her community. For over 50 years, Christine served the field of physical therapy with constancy and skill. Her work included roles at the State of Illinois Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, the Special Education District of Lake County Illinois, and DuPage County Easter Seal. She ultimately retired from Arlington Pediatric Therapy (APT), a clinic she founded with her lifelong friend, Elaine Sianis, to serve children with disabilities through physical, occupational, speech, aquatic, and behavioral therapies across the Northwest Suburban area. What began in the basement of Christine’s home grew—first into space at a nearby church, and later into a permanent home in the N. Wilke Office Complex in Arlington Heights. Over time, APT expanded to more than 30,000 square feet of treatment and office space and, at one point, supported nearly 100 treatment and support staff—an extraordinary testament to Christine’s vision, perseverance, and devotion to building something that would endure and serve others for 45 years well.
In 2020, Christine and Elaine Sianis received the Pam Stocking Heart of Gold Community Service Award from the mayor of Arlington Heights, a meaningful recognition of their clinic’s impact and of the values Christine helped establish and sustain. Christine will be remembered with respect and gratitude for a life of service, for the standards she upheld, and for the care she helped bring to countless children and families through decades of dedicated work.
Christine is survived by her husband of 52 years, Peter W. Weber; children, Jennifer (Chad) Scoggins and Matthew (Maria) Weber; and grandchildren, Emelie and Benjamin Scoggins, and Andrew Weber.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Monica Carlson.
