Clare Potempa

Clare Potempa was born November 28, 1961 in Chicago to Richard and Mary (nee Hatzlhoffer) Potempa. She passed suddenly on March 16, 2024.

Clare approached everything in life with passion. She worked for over thirty-eight (38) years at Neal, Gerber, & Eisenberg law in Chicago as a Professional Development Coordinator. Her commitment afforded her time off for the things she loved. Travel was at the top of her list. She always wanted to explore new places, but her true “Happy Place” was Hawaii. Aloha! Clare’s yard was filled with beautiful flowers each summer and she loved walking amongst the flowers at the Chicago Botanical Garden with friends and family. Her pleasures allowed her the opportunity to take amazing travel and nature photos. Her talent for photography extended to capturing momentous family events as well. Yet, with all that she did, she always found time for family and friends. She was always there whenever anyone was in need. Clare was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and niece who will be missed. Her heart was full of kindness.

Clare is survived by her mother Mary; her siblings Theresa Potempa, Richard Potempa, Stephen Potempa, Charles (Jane Pape) Potempa, Thomas (Ann) Potempa, and Bernice (Thomas) Elenz; her nieces and nephews Ashley and Sarah Elenz, Mary Barbara, Joseph, and Kevin Potempa.

She is preceded in death by her father Richard.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Funeral Mass 10:00 AM, Saturday at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
