

Craig Philip Stevens was the beloved husband of 21 years to Sukree Stevens; loving father to Keith Stevens, and Dominik Stevens; step-father to Maximus Stevens and Saranporn Rattanahattakul; grandfather to Dominic Armani Stevens II, Sierra Amari Stevens, Jayden Alexander Stevens, Kristian Skye Adam Stevens, and Gabriella Stevens; dear brother to Judy Attard, Glenna Hunsinger, Bill Stevens, and Robert Stevens.
Born to a family with a strong sense of civic duty, Craig carried this legacy forward with pride. His early years were marked by a steadfast commitment to service, as he honorably served in the US Coast Guard for seven years. Craig's time in the Coast Guard instilled in him a deep-seated respect for discipline and camaraderie, qualities that would define his character throughout his life.
After his military service, Craig continued his journey of public service as a police officer with the Evanston Police Department. For 31 years, he wore his badge with dignity, becoming a well-known and highly respected figure in the community. His colleagues and those he served often spoke of his friendly demeanor and his unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Evanston.
In addition to his distinguished service in law enforcement, Craig also worked for many years as a cement driver. Known affectionately as a ready-mix concrete driver, he was the unsung hero behind countless construction sites, transporting essential materials to pave the way for new beginnings and strong foundations. His work ethic and reliability made him a valued member of the construction community.
Those who knew Craig best would describe him as loving, friendly, and selfless. His loving nature was the cornerstone of his personal relationships, fostering deep and enduring connections with friends and family alike. His friendly approach to life's encounters earned him the admiration and trust of all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. And his selflessness was evident in every aspect of his life, from his professional roles to the quiet ways he helped others without seeking recognition.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 from 11 am to 3 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The service will start at 2 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home. Burial at sea will be private.
