Daniel Thomas Nix

Daniel Thomas Nix, 23, was born on March 15, 2000, in Park Ridge, Ill. to Brian Nix and Christy (nee Thompson) Nix. He died Friday, March 17, 2023, while vacationing in Mexico.

Daniel was in the process of finishing his senior year at Marquette University and planning to graduate this May with a Finance degree. He is a 2018 graduate of St. Viator High School.

He considered Lake Geneva, Wisc. his "Happy Place" and is where he enjoyed spending as much time on the water as he could. Danny worked as a boat driver and on the pier at Gage Marina. Boating and wake surfing were favorite pass times. He also liked music and cars.

Danny was the classic "life of the party" and cherished good times with family and friends. This is where he could often be found singing and dancing. Those close to him will remember Danny as a sweet, big-hearted guy who loved adventure, excitement and pushing it to the edge.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Christy Nix and Brian Nix; his siblings, Megan (Ricky) Muench, Mary Kate, Tommy, and Kyle Nix; his grandparents Nancy (with Bill) Robey, Tom Nix, and Daniel (Jean) Thompson; and Danielle Doty and her children Taylor and Kendall; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Baby Johnny, and his grandmother Margaret "Peggy" Nix.

Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 12:15 pm, Friday, March 24, 2023, from the Funeral Home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL for Mass at 1:00 pm.
