Elaine Joyce Strum

Mrs. Strum was a sales associate employed with Hitachi Magnetics for almost 30 years. She was very active in the International Order of Job's Daughters from the age of 13. She served as Grand Guardian for the state of Illinois in 1967 and remained involved for 50 years. Elaine was also quite active at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church where she served as a Communion Assistant, Scripture Reader, was on the Altar Care Committee and a member of the Women of ELCA. She also loved spending summers at Bethany Beach where she could grow in her faith and the love of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Elaine loved her family dearly. Her family and friends will miss her infectious laughter.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Sue (Roger) Daniels and Donna Strum; her grandchildren, Ashley (Steve) Hies and Matthew (Tara) Daniels; her great grandchildren Mara & Isla Hies and Peyton Daniels; Kathy Williams, whom she loved like a daughter; and her sister-in-law, Rita Benson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; and her brother, Robert Benson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:30 am, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Committal is private.
