Frederick John Steffen was born on February 18, 1949 in Tilden, NE to Rev/ Lee W. and Dorothy J. (nee Hertlein) Steffen. He died peacefully on June 26, 2023, at his home.
Rick was a Director of Music for First Baptist Church in Toccoa, Georgia; Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois; and the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Rick is survived by his wife of 50 years Elizabeth Ann (nee Behrens) Steffen; his daughters Laura (Paul) Felleson, Amy (Jim) Weston and Ruth (Paul) Miller; his grandchildren Kristen (Nate) Jordan, Leah Paraskevas, Nicholas Paraskevas, Allison, Weston, Joshua Weston, Caleb Weston, Sarah Weston, Jacob Steffen, Charlotte Miller, Violet Miller, Henry Miller; his mother Dorothy Steffen; his brothers Paul (Pam) Steffen and Mark (Joanie) Steffen; he was also the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
