Georgeta Docea

Georgeta Docea was born April 28, 1943 in Chisinau, Moldova. Her earthly journey was completed on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 at Glenview Terrace in Glenview, Illinois.

Throughout her life, Georgeta (Geta) lived courageously and with purpose. Along with her family, she immigrated to the United States on December 5th, 1984 from the Socialist Republic of Romania to escape religious persecution and build a better life for her children. Her hospitality, sacrificial generosity, and work ethic were legendary. Geta worked as an Electrocardiograph Technician at Lutheran General Hospital. She will be remembered by friends and family as a person who loved God, served others and treasured spending time with her five grandchildren.

Georgeta is survived by her husband Niculae Docea; her children, Daniela (Michael) Folker and Florin (Jennifer) Docea; her grandchildren, Joshua (Jamie) Docea, Alex Docea, Rebekah Docea, Christopher Folker, and Leah Docea; her sister Mariana (Dumitru) Stoicescu; and her dear nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation in memory of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt will be held on January 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights, IL, with the Rev. Dr. Florin Docea officiating. Interment will be private.
