Glenn was born and raised in Prospect Heights, IL. Growing up he loved watching and playing baseball. He was the first college graduate in his family, earning degrees in Business and Geology from Northern Illinois University. He loved going fossil hunting with his father Joe and his nephew Rick. After earning his degrees, Glenn enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He served as a Naval Supply Officer stationed in the Mediterranean Sea. Later, he oversaw the restoration of the USS New Jersey, (one of 4 huge US Naval Battleships). He had a long and successful career at United Airlines as a Business Manager.
Glenn was a lifelong railroad buff, avid reader and collector of all things related to railroads and trains. He loved to garden. It was his passion. He also loved to read, tell stories, go to baseball games, talk about baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs and spend time with his family.
Glenn’s memory lives on through his; sister Sharon, nephew and godson Rick, niece Robyn and his 5 grand nieces and nephews: Parker, Lauren, Aubrey, Nadia and Grant.
Glenn’s visitation will be Saturday October 16th from 10AM to 11AM with a celebration of life to follow at 11AM at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL
The interment will take place immediately afterwards at All Saints Cemetery at 700 North River Road in Des Plaines. (There will be a procession from Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home).
