Jack H. Tibbetts

Of Arlington Heights

Jack H. Tibbetts was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 16, 1954 to Frank and Marguerite (nee Troyer) Tibbetts. He was raised in Joplin, Missouri. He died Monday, March 21, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Jack attended and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and was awarded a B.A. and a J.D. and began his legal career as an attorney in Mount Vernon, Illinois for the Legal Services Corporation, a nonprofit that seeks to ensure equal access to legal services for the poor. Subsequently he transferred to the Legal Services Corporation in Chicago as a housing lawyer specialist and later worked as the Assistant Village Attorney at the Village of Oak Park from 1989 to 2006. He moved to a position as an Assistant Attorney with the City of Elgin in 2006 where he retired in 2008. He was an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association serving as a longtime member of the ISBA’s Real Estate Committee.

He was an avid traveler and was devoted to his family. His interests and hobbies included tours of the bat house at Brookfield Zoo with his grand-nieces and nephew, going to Lake Geneva WI with his wife, and reading the newspapers on his deck accompanied by his beloved pets. He enjoyed photography and served as the family’s photographer during their many travels.

Jack is survived by his spouse of 34 years Charleen Reinhold; his twin children Hannah Tibbetts and Jace Tibbetts; his siblings Carl Tibbetts and Martha Tibbetts; his niece Lisa Tibbetts and many other beloved nieces and nephews as well as several grand-nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Visitation on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the time of a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

Per the family's request, wearing face masks would be greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Legal Services Corporation.
