James F. EffaOf Arlington HeightsJames (Jim) Effa was born on May 11, 1932 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Alexander and Dorothy (nee Lombard) Effa. He died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1954. He was a long time employee of Moore Business Forms, Inc. until his retirement. Jim was an avid Amateur Radio operator, a hobby of his for 60+ years. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and spending time with family. Jim was a passionate sports enthusiast; the Packers have lost a loyal fan!He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Ruth Ann (nee Eggers) Effa; his children, David (Beth) Effa, Cathy Hill, and Mary Ellen (Tom) Hiller; his grandchildren, Matthew and Sara Hill, Steven and Kevin Hiller, and Rebecca, Rachel, and Danny Effa; and his sister, Lois (John) Drengler.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial visitation from 2:30 pm until time of memorial service at 6 pm, Friday, April 24, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
