He died Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Arlington Heights.Mr. Evans worked as an Environmental Engineer for Gas Technology Institute in Des Plaines for over 20 years. He was a member of many professional organizations. James was an avid science fiction reader and a life-long cat enthusiast. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his cat "Blackie", and was loved by all.James is survived by his spouse of 37 years, Cherryl (nee Mitchem); children, Susan (Robert Price) Morehouse, Richard Morehouse, Macon Morehouse, Carolynn (Eric) Gockel, and Thomas (Eleftheria Chaldeau) Crouch; grandchildren, Lora Morehouse-Price, Claire Gasque, Henry Morehouse, Imogen Morehouse, Nikephoros Crouch, Miles Gockel, Eirene Crouch, Elizabeth Mae Gockel, and Nektarios Crouch; brothers, Bruce (Doris) Evans, and Geoffrey Evans; sister-in-law, Betty Evans; many nieces and nephews and one feline special friend, "Blackie".He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Peter Evans; and sister-in-law, Marty Evans.Visitation Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayer Service 11:00 am Friday, June 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
