

James E. Robinson (Jim) died on March 12, 2025 at 10:55 am. He was born January 1, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan. In 1942 he moved to Battle Creek, Michigan where he attended high school. Upon graduation he enrolled at Michigan State University and received a B.A. Degree with majors in Accounting and Economics in 1952.
That same year he entered the service and was assigned to the Army Finance Corps and served part of his duty in Germany. Upon his discharge in 1954 he joined General Foods Corporation, Post Foods Division as an accountant.
In 1962 Jim was promoted to a position at General Foods Headquarters in White Plaines, New York. In 1964 he was promoted to Controller for the Gaines Division of General Foods in Kankakee, IL. In 1966 General Foods promoted him back to the headquarters in New York. In 1969 Jim left General Foods and accepted a position as Controller for Aeromotive Manufacturing Corporation in Kalamazoo, Michigan. When Aeromotive Manufacturing was purchased by Woodhead Industries in Northbrook, IL Jim was hired as their Corporate Controller and later promoted to Corporate Treasurer and Chief Accounting Officer. He retired in December 1990.
After retirement, Jim and Nancy bought a condo in Cedar Hammock Golf and Country Club in Naples, Florida. They spent over twenty winters in Naples.
Throughout his life, Jim was involved in various activities outside of his work. He was active in Little League Baseball, the Junior Achievement Program and the Lutheran Church, He served as Treasurer and Trustee for the Village of Lakewood, IL and was a Board Member at Crystal Lake Country Club. He loved to ski, play golf, bowl, travel, play bridge and read.
Jim is survived by his wife Nancy, his children James Jr., and Mary Ann (Michael) Credille and grandchildren Tim (Rebecca) Miller, Melissa (Ashley) Miller, two nieces and six great grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his son, David.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church , 111 West Olive Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
In lieu of flowers the family will greatly appreciate donations made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Pepper Family Hospice, 405 N. Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.
