

Jimmy attended John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Il. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. while on a music scholarship. After graduating college, Jimmy moved to Los Angeles, to pursue a career in music. In 1998, Jimmy released his debut album, James Café, which was followed by five other albums over the next ten years. In 2007, Jimmy co-founded Wildfox, a women’s clothing line, serving as the CEO and President.
Jimmy certainly enjoyed life. He traveled the world and made friends wherever he went. Jimmy was charismatic, adventurous, loyal. generous and loved by his family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by his loving parents, Judy and Gerald Sommers; sister, Janet (Paul) Friedrichs; niece and nephew, Paige and Kyle Friedrichs; and a Godfather to eight.
