Jean A. Staffa, a beacon of warmth and creativity, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Arlington Heights, IL. Born on February 27, 1937, in Chicago, IL, she was the cherished daughter of the late Josephine and John Parat, and the fond twin sister of Janet (Joe) Loiacano. Jean's life was marked by her enduring love, her artistic spirit, and her unwavering support of her beloved Chicago Cubs.
Jean's journey through life was shared for 44 beautiful years with her loving husband, the late Ronald E. Staffa. Together, they built a family foundation of love and care, which Jean nurtured with every fiber of her being. She was the dear mother of Barbara Walton-Verceles, Laura (Ed) Powell, Ronald (Marie) Staffa, and Eric (Rachel) Staffa. Her love blossomed further as a proud grandmother to Natalie, Courtney, Ricky, Matthew, Anthony, Paul, Jonathan, Katelyn, Carly, and Caroline, and as a great-grandmother to Jake. She also held a special place in her heart as the godmother to Rick Vogl.
Jean's creativity knew no bounds. She poured her heart into making clothing for her children as they grew and crafted the most exquisite outfits for Laura's Barbie dolls. Her home was a canvas for her creativity, and she filled it with love and the quiet contentment that comes from a life of giving. Whether it was baking her renowned treats for family and friends or cheering on the Cubs, Jean did so with passion and joy.
An animal lover at heart, Jean's cats were her cherished companions, each one receiving the same love and care that she extended to all living creatures. Her gentle nature and generous spirit made her home a haven, not just for her family, but for any animal in need.
Jean's passion for gardening was evident to all who knew her. She found solace and joy in the serene embrace of her garden, nurturing each plant with the same care and attention she gave to her relationships. Her garden was a testament to her patience, creativity, and connection to the natural world.
Jean's legacy is one of love, creativity, and devotion. She was the matriarch who always put her family first, ensuring that her children and grandchildren felt the depth of her love through her actions and the traditions she passed down. Her hands, always busy with the work of caring and creating, were the tools through which she expressed her love for her family.
The loss of Jean A. Staffa will be deeply felt by those who knew her best, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come. As they remember her, they will find comfort in the memories of her unwavering support, her creative gifts, and her joyous celebration of life's simple pleasures.
