

She was born in Chicago to Elly and George Hofmann on Feb 8, 1934. She graduated from Amundsen High School in 1951 after skipping a grade in grammar school and went on to work as an Executive Secretary at Crane Packing Co in Morton Grove. She was married to Eugene Schulz in 1961 and had one son, Gary, born in 1962. After her work at Crane she later went on to work at John Jay Elementary School and for the School District 59 administration. She later ran a campaign to run as a District 214 school board member and eventually wound up working for Northrop Grumman for many years. She retired from Northrop and later went on to volunteer in an adult literacy program and at the Social Security Administration.
She was a devoted wife, mother and loved being a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Morgan and Paige. She always enjoyed get-togethers, cooking, and was most happy when family were around. Her kindness and giving to others were her trademarks. In her younger days she was an avid ice skater and tennis player and played golf until she could no longer get around. She took college classes to obtain a Certified Professional Secretary degree and even took general engineering classes and became a licensed Amateur Radio operator.
She was active in her church at St Marks in Mt. Prospect and was a member of the Altair Guild and she volunteered with the PADS program. She loved reading books, playing games, and just spending time with her family. As a loving grandmother she was very involved with her grandchildren taking them to museums, plays at the Marriott Theater, and many fun lunches.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elly and George Hofmann, and her husband, Eugene Schulz. She is survived by her son, Gary (Lisa), and her two grandchildren Morgan and Paige
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Lauterburg - Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and church service on Friday October 3, 2025 at 10 AM at St Mark's Church, 200 South Wille Street, Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
