Joan L. Brice

Joan L. Brice was born on May 16, 1932 in Evanston, IL to Leroy and Laura (nee Wood) Schmidt. She died on July 25, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Joan worked at Jewel Food Stores where she met the love of her life Phil. Was blessed to be a stay at home mom to raise five kids. Resulting in raising a beautiful family.

She was a member of the Women's Club at Precious Blood of Christ in South Carolina.

Her interests and hobbies included participating in Golf and Bowling Leagues. Also took up Gardening, Painting, Tai Chi and Crocheting in which we all benefited from her creations.

Joan is survived by her children, Jeffrey Brice, Stephen (Paula) Brice, Deborah (Allen) Cheterbok, Cynthia (Sam) Donatucci and Scott (Catherine Shoemaker) Brice; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 71 years Philip J. Brice, her parents Leroy and Laura Schmidt, her brother Ronald Schmidt, her sister Marcie (late William) McFarlane, as well as, her Daughter-in-Law Janet Brice.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church, 301 S. Ioka Avenue, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. Inurnment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
