Joanne Gleason, known to many as “The Bulldog Lawyer,” passed away leaving behind a legacy of immense love, strength, and dedication. She was a woman of extraordinary character, whose unwavering generosity and deep passion touched everything she encountered.
From an early age, Joanne exhibited a drive that would come to define her life. She built her law practice, The Law Office of Joanne Gleason, from the ground up with tireless effort and deep conviction. Her work was more than a career; it was a calling. She poured her heart and soul into advocating for others and earning the respect of her colleagues and clients alike. Her loyalty was unlike any other.
Joanne met the love of her life, George J. Hogen Sr., when she was just 15 years old. From that moment forward, the two were inseparable, sharing a bond and a life together that many could only dream of. Their enduring love was the foundation of a beautiful family and a testament to their shared strength and devotion to one another.
Joanne was the proud and loving mother of four children: George J. Hogen Jr. (Brittney), Brittany Hogen, Brett Hogen (Amanda), and Maggie Hogen (Shane McNally). She took profound pride in her role as “Grandma” to her cherished grandchildren: Griffin, Nora, Adrienne, Wynnie, Erin, Jimmy, Delaney, Elliett, and Gavin.
She was a beloved sister to many: the late Billy Gleason; the late Nancy Richter (Larry); Judith Gleason (Doug Shreffler); the late Terry Gleason (Gloria); Mary Faith Flahive (Thomas); Kathleen Gleason (Abel Macias); Maureen Gleason (Charles Farley); Joseph Garcia (Bea); Martin Gleason (Susan); Colleen Gleason; Brian Gleason (Karen); Kevin Gleason (Kelly); Patricia Wagner (Daniel); Timothy Gleason (Susan); and Joseph Gleason (Lisa). Joanne was a proud aunt to 57 nieces and nephews and a great-aunt to many more.
Joanne’s life was one marked by purpose, resilience, and unmatched love for her family and friends. Her impact will be felt for generations to come, and her memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. As her loving husband always says, “they broke the mold, there will never be another like my wife”.
Visitation for Joanne will take place at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, on Sunday, May 25 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
