I was devastated by this news. Words cannot describe the heartfelt sympathy I have for you and your family my prayers and thoughts are with you. Joe and I worked together at ONEAC, he was my boss and one of the best I ever had. He was a very special person a real people person always helpful, caring and fun to be around. He has left a void in so many peoples life, he was one of a kind.
My prayers are with you for the sorrow you are going through, May the Lord help you through this trial and bless you and the girls tenfold.

I I knew Joe as a volunteer with Girl Scouts in the 90's. Always admired his dedication to whatever he was doing. Blessings and peace as your journey is done.. You did good.

Joe was my pledge brother at Theta Xi Fraternity.  He was smart, well liked, and always ready to help.  Early in our freshman year at IIT I recall several of us driving around the southwest side of Chicago in Joe's van gathering items for the annual Theta Xi Halloween party.  As freshman pledges we had to organize and run the party.  At a stoplight Joe popped the clutch and HUD (Mike Slifka) did a backwards somersault out the back doors landing upright.  If you know HUD, then you can imagine what happened next.  We bonded that night.  My thoughts and prayers are with him.  Dave Gucwa, AG 751

Joe was a wonderful, funny, smart, caring man. I was so lucky to have him as my cousin. My love to all the family. I'm so sorry.

I was shocked and saddened when I heard that Joe had passed away. My sympathies and condolences to Joe's family. Joe and I worked together at Oneac Corporation. I have great respect for him. He was an excellent Engineer who was very thorough and accurate in his work. He had a great sense of humor. Joe was willing to take the time to help anyone with a problem or question.
The breadth of his knowledge was very impressive and one never felt like he was condescending during any discussion. He was a great asset to the manufacturing organization that I was part of. We will all miss him.

Dear Julie, Ashley, Mallorie and family,

As you know, our hearts are breaking not only for you but for ourselves as we say goodbye for now to our wonderful friend. Joe was a devoted husband, kind and caring father, and the smartest, but most humble person we knew. He was a true gentleman, putting the needs of his wife, daughters and mother-in-law first and foremost. It says so much that he was sincerely loved by your mom, Julie.
Joe was always willing to help our daughters with their math and science fair projects, even though he was busy challenging his own daughters to excel in both fields. His gentle way of explaining things made it a pleasant experience.
I hope the memories of our many shared meals together, card games, birthday 
parties, dance recitals, graduations, New Years celebrations and weddings will bring some comfort during this difficult time.
Just recently, when I was concerned about a health issue, Joe reassured me that I would be OK, because we needed to take care of each other. I take that to heart and both Pete and I will always be there to help with whatever you and the girls need, now and in the future. 
Joe has been the best example of what it is to be devoted, loving, caring, patient, calm, intelligent and humble. We are proud to have had him as a neighbor and friend. 
He put up a tough fight, but now he can rest and be without pain.

My heart aches for you and your family during this extremely difficult time. So much to say about such a wonderful man. Mr. Enk was always tenacious, and boy he sure did have a passion for math & science as he seemed to some how apply it to any and every task at hand (which always boggled our minds). He was a very gentle and warm hearted gentleman that indeed loved his beautiful family more than anything. He was always there to help not only them, but others as well, and would insist because he genuinely enjoyed doing so. His gadgets, electronics, love for flowers, and mathematics will put a smile on many of our faces.

He and his family always welcomed me not only into their home, but their lives as well, for which I am truly blessed. You are a great role model for not only myself, but for many others too. A lot of times were shared, whether it be at the dinner table making jokes, watching football games, family events, or going out to do activities, which allowed great memories to be made.

Your laugh, your smile, your kind and warm heart will ALWAYS be remembered and NEVER forgotten...

I remember Joe in high school. He truly was a lover of math and science, brilliant at both. Although I haven't seen him since those days, I know he will be missed by those who are close, because he was a good good man.

Dear Julie and Family, Joe and I met in high school and worked together as busboys at 15 years old.  He was smart, strong and a really good person.  Reuniting with him 25 years later at Tripp Lite was a surprise and a delight. His intellect and technical expertise were indeed impressive. Most notably, he displayed both these traits with patience and humility.  I (and we) will miss him greatly.

My heartfelt condolences to Joe's family and friends.  He and I were chums at CSHS in many of the same classes throughout those years.  I have always remembered Joe as smart, steady, and unfailingly kind -- solid in the best ways, with a twinkle in the eye. May the summer wind bring solace, prayers and peace.
