Joseph “Joe” R. Velisek Jr., a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on March 13, 1959, in Chicago, Joe is the cherished son of Frances C. (née McGuire) and Joseph R. Velisek Sr.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark E. Velisek.
Joe is survived by his loving parents; cherished daughter, Theresa “Tess” Velisek; fond brothers, Dan (Carm) Velisek and Scott Velisek; dear nieces, Jenna Velisek and Leah Velisek; nephew, Daniel (Margeret) Velisek; and great-niece, Eleanor Jane “Ellie J.” Velisek. He also leaves behind many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 am at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, in Alsip, IL.
