

JoAnn was born into the Bettina family on July 29, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Elmwood Park and graduated from Trinity High School and Loyola University. It was while at Loyola that she met her future husband, Patrick.
JoAnn enjoyed a career first teaching elementary grades in the Chicago public schools and then working for Apple tours.
JoAnn found great joy in her many dogs and was active in area Wheaton Terrier dog clubs for many years. She also was active with her dogs in agility training and dog dancing.
JoAnn also loved dancing. As a young girl she took dance lessons. She would show off her tap skills to the neighbor kids in our garage. Later she enjoyed going with Patrick to the downtown discos and dance clubs. She was an avid fan of TV dance shows from American Bandstand and Soul Train to Dancing with the Stars.
JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Patrick Neville, of Arlington Heights and her brother, Joseph (Susan Halfpenny) Bettina of Buffalo Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her caring three aunts and three uncles who raised her.
A Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Belmont & Cumberland Avenues, River Grove, IL
