Katherine Brooks Glenn

Katherine Glenn (nee Brooks), 83, went home to be with her Lord on April 28, 2023. Born in New York City, to Freeman and Katherine Brooks, in December 1939, she spent her childhood in the N.Y. suburb of Rye. In 1960, she married Todd R. Glenn of Evanston, Illinois and in 1961 graduated from Northwestern University, Evanston. She taught in middle school until their first child, Elisabeth, was born in 1963. At that point, she became a full-time mother and home maker.

Elisabeth was followed by Stephen, in 1966 and by Carolyn in 1975. During those years there were her husband's career-related moves to New Jersey and Springfield, Illinois. Then the family settled for twenty years in Glen Ellyn, II. She "kept out of trouble" by managing a Girl Scout troop, by being involved in Bible studies, by part-time work in the public school system and by having various responsibilities in her church.

In 1989, Todd and Katherine moved, for twenty years, to Lexington, Va., in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. During those years they were blessed with nine terrific grandchildren. Katherine taught a Bible Study Fellowship class during that time. Returning to Illinois in 2010, the Glenns settled in Arlington Heights. They were members of the Orchard Evangelical Free Church.
