He graduated from St. Andrew's Catholic Grade School in 1959 and Delavan-Darien Union High School in 1963.
When he joined The US Air Force in 1965, he completed Jet Over Two - Aircraft Maintenance Training. He spent the next 3+ years teaching that same course and an aircraft maintenance analysis course, both at Chanute AFB in Rantoul, IL. He honorably discharged from USAF in 1969.
Ken attended DeVry Institute of Technology and received a Bachelors of Electronics Engineering Technology Degree in 1972. He went on to spend spend the next 30 years teaching various courses in that same discipline at DeVry. He received a Masters in Business Administration in 1997 and then taught several business courses until retirement in 2007.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Phillip. He was the proud father of Dr. Jeffery Kramer and loving father-in-law to Julia Kramer now living in Minnesota. He was happily married to Cynthia (Suarez) Kramer; who was his lifesaver, loving wife, and traveling companion. They went on many vacations together to Europe, Asia, South America, Philippines, Australia. They were also avid amber collectors and went on many “road trips” to almost every state in the good old USA to refine their collection for over 30 years.
After retirement, Ken enjoyed collecting popular songs from the 50s, 60s & 70s. His favorite lyrics are from a song by Tom T. Hall - "Ain't but three things in this world that's worth a solitary dime, but old dogs and children and watermelon wine...old dogs care about you even when you make mistakes, God bless little children while they're still too young to hate".
