Kenneth "Ken" H. Sorensen

Kenneth “Ken” H. Sorensen, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 13, 1938 in Chicago, IL, he was the dear son of Harry and Marie Sorensen. Ken was known for his hard-working nature and dedication to his family and career.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his brother, Rudolph Sorensen; his sister, Geraldine (Joseph) Barrett; and his children, Dawn (Aaron) Nickeas and Jeffery (Brandie) Sorensen.

Ken is survived by the love of his life, Verna Sorensen, and his cherished daughter, Christine (Timothy) Smith. His legacy continues through his dear grandchildren: Nicholas, Chloe, Madison, Kevin, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jeffery, Priscilla (Michael), Patricia, and Genesis. Ken is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and fond friends.

In his professional life, Kenneth dedicated 30 years as a UPS delivery driver, exemplifying his hard-working spirit and commitment to his career.

He was known for his silly antics, and his comfort in striking up a conversation with anyone. Ken knew no strangers. He was a kind and loving man who would drop what he was doing to help family or friends. In his last few weeks, his will remained strong and his smile never faded. A smile that was contagious and unforgettable. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren and never hesitated to tell them how much he loved them and that they were all God’s gift to him. His love for all God’s creatures knew no bounds.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Ken will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025 starting at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 27551 Volo Village Rd, Volo, IL, 60073. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
