Kenneth D. Vander Ark was born on November 24, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Henry and Evelyn (nee Prinz) Vander Ark. He went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 5, 2021.
After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, he later obtained his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State. Ken worked in international marketing and the financial industry for many years. Most recently he was Principal of Vander Ark & Associates, a cost-reduction consulting firm.
Ken was an active member of The Chapel-Palatine, served as an AWANA Leader and Kid's Hope Mentor, and passionately supported ministries and missionaries around the globe.
His greatest interest in life was serving God, his family, friends, and strangers.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jean Vander Ark (nee Hampton); his children Karen (Mark) Beamer, Kimberly (Steve) Milligan, and Brian (Julie) Vander Ark; his grandchildren David, Daniel (Erica), Luke, and Rebecca Beamer, Alyssa, Cade, and Carson Milligan, Lydia, Lily, Jenna, and Health Vander Ark; his great grandchild, Halle Beamer; sister, Ruth Colby, brother, Richard (Judy) Vander Ark, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arl. Hts. Rd., Arl. Hts, IL. The funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Friday, November 12, 2021, with a brief period of visitation from 9:45 until 10:10 am, at The Chapel - Palatine, 431 North Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois. Interment at Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
