

Lucy C. Jean, 94, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. Born on May 31, 1931, in Sterling, Illinois, to the late Charles and Loretta (née Doyle) Conlon, Lucy built a life centered on family, laughter, and togetherness. She shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, the late Eugene Jean, whose memory she carried with her always.
Lucy was a devoted and loving mother to Michael (Laura) and Tom (Dawn), and a proud and cherished grandmother to Emily, Ryan, the late Andrew, Trent, Timothy, and Trevor. She was a beloved sister to Jim (Carol) Conlon and was preceded in death by her siblings Mary (Louis) Hemmerick, Gwen Conlon, and John (Donna) Conlon. Lucy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family, including her in-laws, the family of Cecile and Hector Jean of Lowell, Massachusetts, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
In addition to being a caretaker to many in times of need, Lucy loved organizing gatherings, celebrations, and holidays, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her warmth and generosity made everyone feel welcome.
Lucy’s lively spirit was matched by her wonderful sense of humor as she had a quick wit and a way of making others smile, even in the simplest moments. She was a passionate Chicago sports fan who loved cheering on the Bears and the Cubs.
Above all, Lucy will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her laughter, plus the countless ways she brought people together. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the joy she shared, and the family she held so close.
Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church, 11 N Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070, on April 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church. Interment scheduled for 2:30 pm at Calvary Cemetery, 2102 E. LeFevre Road at Freeport Rd Sterling, Illinois 61081.
