Margaret "Marge" C. Amato

She is survived by her daughters Nancy (Michael) Hanzalik and Jacqueline Amato and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Amato, her parents and her brother Arthur (the late Glenna) Jicha.

Marge grew up in Cicero, Illinois. After high school she attended Lake Forest College.Marge met Jack in 1952 and they were married later that year. Shortly after their marriage, Marge and Jack moved to Arlington Heights where they started their family and resided for more than 65 years.

Marge worked at the Daily Herald for 47 years. She began as a teletype setter for the newspaper and over the years held several different positions. She retired from the Herald in 2008.

Marge loved her family and friends, loved to travel and loved flowers. Spring was her favorite time of year because she loved to go flower shopping and then watch all the flowers bloom and grow.

Marge will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
