Of Lake Zurich
Margaret L. Musich was born on March 7, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anton and Mary Lukach. She passed away surrounded by her children on May 10, 2021.
Margaret married her school sweetheart, Jack R. Musich, in 1949 and shared their lives together until Jack’s death on September 15, 2017. After living in Rochester, NY (where Jack received his BA degree at R.I.T) they moved back to the Midwest and settled in Arlington Heights in 1954.
They raised four children – Mark, Mike, Linda, and Matt. Margaret’s second love, after her family, was her job at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. She celebrated 40 years of service and retired in 2008. At one time head of circulation, her coworkers, and pages remember her as a kind, fair lady with a big heart.
Margaret was an avid reader, as evidenced by the many stacks of books and magazines at home. Her favorite reads were Royal family news, People magazine, self-help, home decorating, and Fannie Flag books. Other Margaret favorites included consuming Filet O-Fish sandwiches and strawberry shakes at McDonald's, Jelly Bellies, mini-marshmallows, and shopping at Carson’s, Vera Bradley, Flaherty’s, and QVC (from her recliner -- we had to put a stop to that one!).
In her later years, Margaret became an eager listener, preferring observing the lively family banter over actual conversation participation. Margaret and Jack moved to the assisted living facility, Azpira Place of Lake Zurich, in May 2017. The staff became her second family taking excellent care of her personal needs. Upon her passing Azpira Place gave her a moving tribute and send-off to her next chapter.
Margaret is survived by her children Mark (Janet) Musich, Michael A. (Lorraine) Musich, and Linda (Brian) Green; her grandchildren Jamie (Kirk) Sturgulewski, Jennifer (Ryder Stagg) Musich, Nicole (Ronald Jr.), Fiorito, Michael (Megan) Musich, Kyle Green, Trevor Green, Elektra (John Landin) Musich; her 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Robert Musich; her son, Matthew A. (Margie) Musich; her granddaughter, Amanda Musich; her parents; and her brothers Joe, Stanley, and her sister Mimi.
Memorial Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Height Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Family requests all guests wear masks regardless of vaccination status.
