Of Arlington Heights
It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary G. Anderson. Born March 4, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Leo and Charlotte Louise (nee Kater) Stanley. She died Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
She cherished her family above all else, and enjoyed spending her time with them, her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her many dear friends. She will be greatly missed by them all.
Mary excelled in her career as an Office Manager, working for Paddock Publications, Central X-Ray, and for Dr. Walter Miller.
She was a talented writer and was a member of a local writer's group. She won a 2004 award for her poetry. She was a devoted parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. On Sundays you could find her serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the welcoming committee. She also spent many years as part of their bowling club. It was common to find her on a dance floor, as she enjoyed both ballroom dancing and square dancing. Her love of traveling took her wonderful places around the world, where she had many adventures. She had a natural gift for painting, which resulted in many art projects with her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her beloved spouse of 65 years Robert C. Anderson; her daughters Diana Anderson, Marilee Gallagher, Patti (Larry) Purcell, Colleen (Michael Capellani) Anderson and Judy (Thomas) Gebavi; her grandchildren Trevor Warner, Patrick (Leslie) Gallagher, Kathleen Gallagher, Lacy Gallagher, Hallie Purcell, Katie Purcell, Mary DiLenge, Diana DiLenge, Nicole Capellani, Kelly Capellani, Thomas (Amie) Gebavi, Christina (Tracey) Goo, Joseph Gebavi, William Gebavi and Amy Gebavi; her great-grandchildren Thomas Gebavi, Liam Gebavi, James Gebavi, Jackson Goo, Ethan Goo, Charlotte Goo, Eleanor Goo and Samantha Goo; her brother Joseph Lee (Diane) Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.
