Mary Lucille Hertz was born September 23, 1920 in Chicago to Edward D. and Bertha M. (nee Bruckheimer) Bristow. She died January 19, 2019 at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling.
Lucille was a founding member of St. Alphonsus Parish in Prospect Heights, where she was involved with P.A.D.S. and Ministry of Care. For many years she brought communion to residents at Addolorata Villa and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Lucille worked at Carson Pirie Scott and then, after her children were in school, at Montgomery Ward, until her retirement.
Lucille is survived by her children, Martin P. (Jeanne) Hertz III, Mary Beth (Lou Sutton) Hertz, Michael N. (Janet) Hertz and Matthew (Nancy) Hertz; her grandchildren, Martin P. (Morgan Kelley) Hertz IV, Margaret (Kevin) Cannon, Ryan (Melissa) Hertz, Robby Hertz, Danny Hertz, Sarah Hertz, Rebecca (Kyle) Ratcliffe, Dillon Hertz and Megan (Jeff Halerz) Brady; her great grandchildren Violet, Della, Martin V, Louise, Kaden, Nolan and Ulysses; her brother James (Mary Ellen) Bristow and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Martin P. Hertz Jr.; her son Michael B. Hertz; her brothers John (late Dorothy) Bristow and Harry (late Gloria) Bristow and by her parents.
A memorial visitation will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Addolorata Villa, Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel, 555 McHenry Road, Wheeling, IL 60090 from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
