Mercedes Montoya was born on April 17, 1929 in the Philippines to Gregorio and Luisa (nee Yaneza) Aguilar. She died Monday, February 12, 2018.
Mrs. Montoya was a teacher at St. John Academy in the Philippines, then later worked in Finance for John Nuveen Company.
Mercedes is survived by her children, Ditas (Danilo), Fides (Artemio Jr.), Leo (Raquel), Gines (Leah), and Liza (Ron); and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa, Randy, Brian, Stephanie, Esteban, Erick, Megan, Ryan, Matthew, and Corey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo A. Montoya; her parents and her 12 siblings.
Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:00 am, Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, Illinois for Mass at 10:00 am. Burial following Mass at St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
