Last Letter to My Dad

Being a father is no easy task. A father makes a huge impact on his daughter's life. He is the first man she says "I love you" to, and the first man to really show her what love is. To be honest, I can't remember a time when you weren't there for me - not only as a father, but as a best friend. Although we didn't always understand each other, you were one of the biggest influences in my life. A father is one who guides his daughter through life. Whether it was something for school, a sporting event, graduation or any defining moment in my life, you've always been one of my biggest fans. My father gave the greatest gift anyone could give another person: he believed in me. Wherever I end up, I hope I make you proud. Every little girl grows up looking up to her dad, but I've never stopped. I know there's no such thing as a perfect dad, but you came pretty close. I hope you knew how important you were to me. You'll always be in my heart and in my thoughts. I love you Dad.

Mike will be missed more than he could imagine. years at work and golfing together ill never forget. All the best to his family. He was a great and fun guy.

I am so sorry to hear about this tragedy that has happened in your family. I hope you are all ok and you are all in my prayers.

I think there is no better way to judge a man than how he handles himself on a golf course, and since Mike and I shared a cart on Sunday mornings many times over the years, I can say that few men were more honorable, pleasant, big-hearted or entertaining. In his role as a founding member of our gang of six men of questionable lineage and dubious intent, he could always be counted on for a good story over steak dinner or an outrageous yarn over drinks. Even when he couldn't be with us, conversation would often drift to stories he'd told or memories we'd shared. To us he was simply "the most interesting man in the world," and we will miss him terribly. To Annette and the girls…thank you for sharing your father with us for so many years. Our prayers are with you.

Annette and family, I am so very sorry to hear about Mike.  May you find comfort in the coming days and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
