Nelly Thut

Nelly Thut passed away on November 22, 2023, in Glenview, Illinois. She was born in Temuco, Chile on July 5, 1931, to Maria and Rudy Waldsburger. Nelly “Nani” and her beloved husband Carlos immigrated from Chile in 1955 settling in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago before moving to Arlington Heights where she lived with her family for 25 years. In her later life she criss-crossed the country living in California, Florida, Arizona and points in between until 2021 when she and Carlos returned to the Chicago area.

She is survived by her spouse Carlos Thut of 68 years; her children Jeffrey (Kelleen) Thut and Patricia (Danial) Flower; her grandchildren Andrew “AJ” (Jacqueline) Thut, Dana (Alex) Lopez, Ryan (Meredith) Thut, Lauren (Matthew) Stummer, Lindsey Thut, Taylor (Casey) Husband, and Tyler Thut; and her great-grandchildren Juliette Thut, Naomi Stummer, Mackenzie Thut, Jackson Thut, Shea Stummer, Everett Lopez, and Marin Husband.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Nelly will be held privately.
