Patrick Pierce Sheehan

Patrick Pierce Sheehan, 82, was born on April 11, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to Michael and Mary (nee Pierce) Sheehan. He died Monday, February 26, 2024, at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, peacefully, with his family by his side.

Known as "Coach" to his students, he devoted over 30 years of his life to teaching in the Chicago Public School system, with most of his time at Gary School. He was also employed by the Mt. Prospect Park District for over 25 years.

An active member of St. James Catholic Church for over 50 years, Patrick volunteered in numerous roles with the Church. In 2000, he was ordained a Deacon by the Chicago Archdiocese and assigned to his home parish where he ministered until his 2023 retirement.

Patrick enjoyed golf and was a member of the St. James Men's Twilight league for over 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Rosary Council and the Elizabeth Ann Seton Assembly. He was proud of his Irish heritage, which he celebrated every day.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Baier) Sheehan; his daughters Rose Ann (Edwin) Loch, Nancy (Jeffrey) Prange, and Margi Sheehan; his grandchildren Joseph, Maggie, Daniel, and David Loch; and Grace, Greta, Rosie, and Reenie Prange; his sisters, Maureen Joyce, Regina (James) Murray; and his sister-in-law Eva Sheehan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Michael, his sister Ellen (Daniel) Carroll; and his brother-in-law Thomas Joyce.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm Friday, March 1, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
