So I had the privilege to grow up with, amongst, and in the Erickson Household during some of my most formative years.  On any given day, one was routinely welcomed into the home by Mr. and Mrs. Erickson and were treated with unconditional love as if you were one of their own.  My earliest memories of Mr. Erickson were of a father and husband who thrived in the company of Mrs. Erickson, his children, and all of the friends that were welcomed into a household that was always buzzing with fun activity.  As a preteen and teenager, my experiences with Mr. Erickson can be described as a friendly father figure who demonstrated wisdom and carried himself with an unwavering self-confidence all while working hard to provide safety and security for his family.  I remember paying close attention to whenever Mr. Erickson spoke as I knew it was going to be something intelligent that I had not thought about before or Mr. Erickson was going to make me laugh.  Often times, Mr. Erickson was able to do both simultaneously, a rare personality trait.  At the time, I was vaguely aware of the challenges Mr. Erickson encountered during his upbringing. However, at a young age, I did not quite have the life experience to truly understand or conceptualize the hardships Mr. Erickson overcame.  In retrospect, it was anything but normal to have been in the company of a self-made man who overcame great odds early in life to be a success in every sense of the word.  Mr. Erickson met his sole mate in Mrs. Erickson and together they raised a loving family all while applying his life experiences to excel in his career and achieve great life successes. Rest in Peace, Mr. Erickson - your legacy will live on by continuing to inspire your family, friends, and anyone who had the chance to witness your life up close and personal.

I remember my siblings and parents and I teaching Grandpa Erickson how to use FaceTime and emojis! The first time we successfully FaceTimed (from the other room) we were all laughing and smiling. We were then right beside each other, but sending tons of emojis. From that day on, Grandpa Erickson sent us all texts periodically with lots of emojis! It always made me smile.

1989 We were on the eve of the Gulf War and Sadaam Hussein was saying it would be "the mother of all wars" well we kicked his ass as President George Bush said and the Russians folded their aggression and the cold war soon ended that's the context when I began working for Mr. Erickson. Now years later we are in a second Cold War and the Russians have not learned their lesson.  Paul was a great family man and a friend. He was courageous in that  he trusted me and I delivered and happily worked for him ten years. He also was very frank and honest and always spoke his mind and said what he thought never caring what the Media said. I guess that's due to his hardships as a young person and time served in the US Air Force.  I am thankful Paul lived such a long and happy healthy life and remembered he would tell me as we drove in his car to appointments that some day he won't be with us. I am sorry that day finally came.  God Bless all the Erickson Clan. Paul did good.

My sincere condolences to the Erickson family. Through the tender stories his son has told me, he overcame his childhood and provided the safe and loving household that he never had. His legacy truly is inspiring.  Beth DeCook

I remember  I would see Mr. Erickson sitting in his big chair in the family room after he came home from work.  He was always wearing his white undershirt,  as I suspected he took off his nice work shirt of the day.  Susan and Steve were my age, so i knew him from birth to almost 7th grade when my family left for Minnesota.  I never once saw him be anything but nice.  A very sweet man. It was years later in my old age that I learned that he had spent time in an orphanage and thats when it hit me, Oh so thats why he was able to read a book, like he was in a quiet library, in the loud  5 kid Erickson household. I am soooo happy Susan (Suzie, as her father called her) were able to visit with Paul a couple months ago for  an hour.   His mind was sharp as a tack and his memory bar none.  I can picture him now playing a round of golf in heaven. RIP Mr. Erickson.
