Richard K. Burke

Richard Burke was born November 29,1928 in Lima,Ohio to Hugh and Estella Burke. He passed away Monday October 10, 2022 at Northwestern Hospital, Huntley,IL.

Richard is survived by his daughter Sandra Burke of Algonquin,IL. He is proceeded in death by his wife Rosemary Burke (nee Slade) and his brother Warren Burke of Lima, Ohio.

Richard "Dick" loved his family and dearly missed his wife Rosemary who passed away March 7, 2009 from lung cancer. Richard and Rosemary got married January 1,1950 after Rosemary finished nursing school. They lived an active social life until their daughter Sandra was born. Rosemary was an at home mom until their daughter was in high school. Richard worked at the Chicago Board of Trade for several decades before retiring early.

They were active members of the First Christian Church of Arlington Heights for several years. After moving to Huntley Richard started attending Willow Creek Huntley.

They lived in Ohio, Indiana, and several homes in Arlington Heights before Richard relocated to Huntley after Rosemary passed. He enjoyed weekly dinners with his daughter and her dog, Bentley. He loved to dog sit when his daughter went on vacation and relished the multiple daily walks he took Bentley on! He also enjoyed playing golf with his Sun City buddies and biweekly breakfasts with the guys from the Sun City neighborhood. He was involved in several golf leagues in Arlington Heights prior to moving to Huntley, then picked up playing in a league in Huntley. He was an avid reader of Civil War books and he daily read the Chicago Tribune from cover to cover.

There will be a Celebration of Life service Saturday November 5, 2022 from 10am - 12pm at Willow Crystal Lake 100 S Main, Crystal Lake. There will be a brief service at 11:00 am.
