Thomas H Jacobs, age 67, passed away Friday April 5, 2013. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Lee (nee Gundersen); loving father of Kyle, Paul, and Lauren; dear uncle of Renee' and Patti Pierce; fond brother-in-law of Christine (Tante) Steigerwalt; fond brother of the late Diane, nee Jacobs, (Gerald) Pierce. After returning from military service in Vietnam, Tom worked 30 years for Commonwealth Edison before retiring in 1999. A dedicated family man, Tom spent the remainder of his life helping to raise his children. Tom was also very involved in Passages, a group helping families of young adults with Asperger's Syndrome. Visitation, Monday, 5-9 pm at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004. In accordance with Thomas' wishes, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Adler Planetarium at, Adler Planetarium, Advancement Office, 1300 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605, appreciated.
