Thomas G. Joyce Of Mount ProspectThomas G. Joyce was born on December 20, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Nora (nee Sullivan) Joyce. He died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital " Midwest Palliative Care Hospice, Arlington Heights.Mr. Joyce was a police officer for the City of Evanston for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant. He"ll be remembered as a man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time at his second home in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.Thomas is survived by his spouse of 59 years Maureen (nee Sheehan); his children Mary (Walt) Sterrenberg, Patricia (Sean) Cusack, Sheila Joyce, Ellen Joyce, Thomas M. (Sandy) Joyce and Kevin Joyce; his grandchildren Erin Joyce,"with whom he had an especially close bond, Johnny Jozwiak, Caitilin, Colin, Mick (Natalie), Bridget and Nora Cusack, Emily (Tony) Wynn, Will and" Maureen, Sterrenberg, Leigha, Megan and Matt Bystol, Tom, Kasey, Conor and Ellen Joyce; his great grandchildren, Jack Cusack, Liam, Kellan and Nolen Wynn; his sister, Mary Garrity his brothers, Frank (Kathy) Joyce and Tim (Pat) Joyce; his sisters-in-law Jean and Carol Joyce, his brother-in-law Vince Pellettieri; and his many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Erica Sterrenberg; his siblings Jack Joyce, Bud Joyce, Alice Pellettieri and Pat (Kitty) Joyce; his brother-in-law Don Garrity and his parents.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:15 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2016 from the funeral home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois for Mass at 10:00 am."
