Of Evanston
Tosh “Tashony” Noplos was born February 18, 1988 in Sycamore, IL. He passed away on March 16, 2024.
Tosh was preceded in death by his faithful companion and beloved dachshund, Adia, whom he will now be reunited with.
Tosh lived for the joy of adventure with those he loved. He excelled as an impossibly young member of the Cheerwine Professional Cycling Team. His passion and motivation for all levels of athletics led him to create Tash Training, where he continued to translate his excitement for physical activity into the possibility of adventure for all who worked with and knew him.
Tosh lived life with the same passion and drive he brought to competitive cycling and was always searching for the next adventure. Rock climbing (and coffee) were his passions, but he never stopped there. He hiked mountains in Washington, swam with sharks in the Great Barrier Reef, climbed oceanside cliffs in Greece and watched the sun set over the Amalfi Coast, side by side with friends - and a pair of donkeys. He learned to surf in Hawai’i, rode horses through Shenandoah, mountain biked the cliffs of Moab and climbed the towering crags of Red River Gorge in Kentucky. He spent his days in the wilderness and his nights under the stars, and he wanted everyone to experience a life like that.
Even in moments of quiet adventure, insisted upon by his much less athletically inclined wife, Tosh found meaning. He stood in solemn understanding on the beaches of Normandy and in the forests of Bastogne. He followed the tire treads of the Tour de France down the Champs-Élysées, drank the obligatory Guinness in Dublin, and had afternoon tea in London. He even found joy in taking risks into the unknown and exploring the world of Azeroth with his wife.
There are no words to express how dearly Tosh will be missed. He would have hoped that all who knew him would find comfort in the fact that he lived more in his brief time in this world than most would in a generation. His memory will be carried on in the people that knew him, in every new adventure, every new location, every chance taken to live life to the fullest.
Tosh is survived by his wife Lisa Boehm; his siblings Dana Lay and Tandon Noplos.
Funeral and interment services will be private.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-6pm on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 2015 Nottingham Lane, Wheaton, IL, 60189. Mourning attire is not required nor requested.
