Victor Magiet

Of Arlington Heights

Victor Magiet was born on February 25, 1956 in Poland to Henry and Barbara (nee Stronska) Magiet. He died Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Lutheran Home & Services, Arlington Heights.

Mr. Magiet was a grocery store manager with National A&P then Dominick’s from 1973 - 2010 and with Meijer from 2011 to 2016. Throughout his life Victor was an elite soccer player in Poland and Chicago. He was a player and coach with the Arlington Aces Soccer Club from 1992-2016. He was an activist in cancer philanthropy. Victor will be remembered as a dedicated family man who loved; wine, tea, gardening, camping, and in recent years art and painting.

Victor is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mireya nee Fonseca; his children Natalie Ines White, Gina Nicole Reedy, and Christopher Victor Magiet; his grandchildren, Evelaine, Nolan, Josephine, and, Victoria; and his sister, Regina Kohn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edmund Magiet.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until time of funeral service at 7:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Committal service 10:00 am, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the interment chapel at All Saints, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois.
