Virginia T. Wood

 She worked as the Director of Girls Athletics for Chicago Public Schools. She was a proud member of Hometown Christian Church. Virginia was a community activist for many organizations.  She loved to golf, swim, bowl and travel throughout the world.  Virginia also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was loved by all.

  Virginia is survived by her son, Gary (Debbie) Wood; grandchildren, Kevin (Susie) Wood, Ryan (Jillian) Wood, Laura (Scott) Masa; great-grandchild, Bryson Wood; son, David (Ginger) Wood; grandchildren, Bethany (Donald) Quinn, Katy (Matthew) Korzeniecki and Lisa Wood; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Noah Gordon, Sienna, Catherine and Joshua Quinn, Bailey and Colton Korzeniecki. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 31 years, Gerald Wood; her parents; siblings, Charles (Mildred) Tenney, Dorothy (Robert) Farnsworth and Jeanette (Ralph) Rapien. 

Visitation Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL  60004. On Friday, December 8, 2017, visitation 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Service at St. John the Beloved Chapel, Lutheran Home and Service, 800 West Oakton Street, Arlington Heights, IL  60004.  Interment will be held privately at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
